CREFC Names Anna H. Glick for 2022 Woman of the Year

 Woman of the Year – Anna H. Glick

Anna Glick is an exceptional practitioner in the field of securitization, with over 40 years of experience in this highly sophisticated area of finance. She has worked in the area of multiclass securitization since its inception, and represents issuers, underwriters, institutional investors and servicers active in the primary and secondary capital markets. Anna has diverse experience in the area of structured mortgage finance, having participated in numerous public and private transactions involving the issuance of securities in both debt and equity form. Anna concentrates in the area of commercial mortgage-backed securitizations and has represented the issuer/underwriter in billions of dollars of securities offerings, many of which include novel structures and features. She also focuses on federal securities laws issues particular to these types of securitizations and advises on related securities compliance matters.

 

She has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the world of complex commercial mortgage finance. In 2021, Anna received a “Lifetime Achievement Award” as part of Corporate Counsel’s annual Women, Influence & Power in Law awards. She earlier won an IFLR LMG/Euromoney Americas Women in Business Law Award as “Best in Structured Finance (including Securitization & Derivatives)” for her work as an exceptional practitioner in the field of securitization. She has also been recognized in Chambers Global: The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Who's Who Legal, Chambers USA: Americas Leading Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and the IFLR1000.

Anna is also active in industry trade organizations and has served as Chair of the Policy Committee and was a member of the Executive Committee of the CRE Finance Council.

CREFC Names Lisa Pendergast 2021 Woman of the Year

Woman of the Year – Lisa Pendergast

Lisa Pendergast is the Executive Director of CREFC, previously serving as the 2010/2011 President, and is a former member of CREFC’s Board of Governors for over nine years. As Executive Director, Ms. Pendergast provides analysis and commentary on commercial real estate credit fundamentals and relative value within the private-label and agency CMBS and structured-product markets.

With more than 25 years of industry experience in the structured-finance markets, Lisa has been a top-ranked research analyst in the highly competitive Institutional Investor All-American Fixed-Income Research Team survey in the CMBS category. She has published several articles and reports on various aspects of the CMBS markets that appear in industry handbooks and academic journals, and is often quoted in the financial press on commercial real estate debt-related issues.

Prior to CREFC, Ms. Pendergast was with Jefferies LLC, as a Managing Director and Head of CMBS Strategy and Risk in the Fixed Income Division’s MBS/ABS/CMBS Group. Before joining Jefferies, Ms. Pendergast was a Managing Director in the Fixed-Income Strategies Group at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where she worked for eight years. Early on in her career, Ms. Pendergast focused on the residential MBS marketplace as a research analyst at Prudential Securities, authoring reports on various securitization structures and mortgage-related bond analyses, such as option-adjusted spreads.

is a managing director and head of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) at Wells Fargo. She has more than 25 years of commercial real estate and fixed-income experience.

As an active member of the industry, community, and CREFC, Kara currently serves on the board of Breaking Ground, a leading NYC nonprofit for supportive and affordable housing. She was also a founding member and currently serves on the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) Women’s Network Advisory Board. She previously served on the Board of Governors of CREFC’s predecessor, the Commercial Mortgage Securities Association. Kara also sits on the Real Estate Capital Policy Advisory Committee (RECPAC) for The Real Estate Round Table.

Kara is based in New York City and currently serves on the Wells Fargo Management Committee, the Employee Benefit Review Committee, and the Corporate & Investment Banking Operating Committee. Since joining Wells Fargo in 2010, she has held a number of senior leadership positions, including head of Structured Real Estate and head of Commercial Real Estate Capital Markets & Finance.
