Real Estate Debt Case Competition

Real Estate Debt Case Competition

CRE Finance Council's Inaugural
Real Estate Debt Competition

The Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) has invited twelve prestigious universities to participate in its inaugural Real Estate Debt Case Competition (the “Competition”). The objective of the competition is to expose students interested in commercial real estate debt to a unique educational contest and give them an opportunity to interact with senior CRE professionals from CREFC’s membership. CREFC is organizing this year’s competition in collaboration with the Steers Center for Global Real Estate at Georgetown's McDonough School of Business.

The Competition will host teams from universities with top real estate programs to compete against other universities with similar profiles. Competitors will present their analysis of a CRE lending decision using a case study based on a real-world transaction. The teams will be given a week to prepare the analysis and presentation materials. At the competition, each team will present its analysis to a panel of senior CRE executives that will judge using evaluation criteria including the team’s analysis, conclusion and presentation skills.
