What do you like most about being a member?
The ability to connect with industry leaders and a multitude of commercial mortgage banking and real estate firms in one place. It also offers an incredible opportunity to reconnect with past associates and colleagues.
Which of our events have you attended? What have you enjoyed about them?
CREF-C Miami annually for the past 7 years, and CREF-C New York for the first time in 2023. They were very different from the perspective of location and ease of getting around. Miami is definitely my favorite so far as attendees appeared to be more accessible due to the warm climate which causes them to enjoy being outside enjoying the weather. It is also a very relaxed and more leisurely atmosphere in Miami. I find that we connect most with potential clients at the after-hours events as folks seem less rushed and not on a tight meeting schedule.
In a nutshell, describe your job or the company you work for.
Veracity is a commercial mortgage banking and real estate advisory firm that specializes in providing complete and accurate data, thorough analysis, comprehensive advisory services, and valuable end-product deliverables to its clients. We function in all aspects relating to the life cycle of an asset and we do this through our solid foundational understanding of industry practices, standards, guidelines and trends. Our primary support services include securitization and seller-servicer transactions, asset management, loan servicing and underwriting.

What has been your biggest professional achievement?
Starting my own advisory firm. This has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career as I am experiencing the creative side of my capabilities, developing and mentoring experienced and young industry professionals and creating opportunities in the marketplace for others. Capitalizing on the knowledge and experience gained over the span of my career helps me to appreciate the investment I was making in developing and expanding my capabilities and exposure to all facets of our industry. One client referred to Veracity as a firm that offers solutions and the strategy to activate those solutions. Using Veracity as my catalyst, this has helped to create endless possibilities.
Who/what inspires you?

Others inspire me. I have had the great privilege of working with some incredible individuals that have a high level of work ethic, possess the desire to produce quality deliverables, exhibit mutual respect towards others and understand the true meaning of teamwork. The Team we have established here is #VeracityStrong and I am continuously grateful for a Team that aligns with the culture and goals of Veracity. It is also a joy to be in a position to help others provide for their families and cultivate career paths.
What career advice do you live by? Who gave it to you?
Know your value and what you bring to an organization. Establish your employment expectations based on the role you fill, your credentials and what is prevalent and equitable in the market. Past employment experiences have taught me this lesson. In the past I have allowed others to undercut my financial worth and value, accepted being placed in positions that were commensurate with my experience and watched far less experienced individuals become my manager.
Organizations must understand the value of their personnel. The success of any organization relies on the people that fulfill client obligations on behalf of the organization.
