CREFC’s Global Footprint

This year, CREFC has taken several important steps in advancing it’s Global Mission:

“To promote the strength and liquidity of commercial real estate finance worldwide”.

In executing on its mission, CREFC’s objective is to bring its value propositions to the global

marketplace in a coordinated and collaborative way. CREFC is seeking to accomplish this through:

n

Establishing the CREFC brand through participation in global conferences;

n

Collaborative execution with our CREFC affiliates in Europe and Japan;

n

The production of global commercial real estate finance conferences and events; and,

n

The establishment of global CREFC chapters in re-emerging markets.

This past March,

CREFC was featured at the 2015 MIPIM World Property Market

Conference in Cannes, France. CREFC was invited to produce one of MIPIM’s highest

profiled panels on the topic of the global commercial real estate markets. The panel

included speakers from two CREFC member companies as well as speakers from

European firms.

In May,

CREFC produced and executed a highly successful investor conference by

leading a delegation of representatives from CREFC member companies to Tokyo, Japan.

There, CREFC hosted conference presentations for Asian investors interested in U.S.

commercial mortgage debt products.

In September,

CREFC expanded its global presence with the official inception of the

CREFC Canada Chapter. The Toronto based Chapter is headed by members from Royal

Bank of Canada (RBC), Institutional Mortgage Capital (IMC), CMLS Financial, and

Manulife Financial. CREFC Canada will provide Canada’s commercial real estate finance

industry participants with conference programming, industry best practices, education

initiatives and connectivity with global industry members.

In December,

CREFC will moderate a panel on global commercial real estate in

Hong Kong, profiling two CREFC member companies. Of the expected 900 attendees,

a significant percentage will be investors from Asia.

CREFC is well positioned to take on a leadership role in the global

marketplace. As CREFC continues to execute on its Global Mission,

its newly formed Global Steering Committee will provide strategic

input and direction on its 2016 initiatives and events.
