Fall 2024 “Big Ideas” Course
This course will explore Alternative Real Estate Asset Classes beginning with a brief history and evolution through current day trends, followed by an in-depth analysis of future supply and demand dynamics at both the micro and macro level. The course content will expand well beyond the traditional brick and mortar real estate investing discussion and will seek to answer macro level questions such as energy supply challenges and constraints as they relate to powering data centers and cold storage (and other asset classes), where will the power come from, how will climate change impact location based decisions, how universities will leverage private developers to meet student housing demand, and much more. Course lectures will include fireside chats with expert guest speakers that include policy experts, economists, and real estate professionals to answer these complex questions.
