NYC's Carbon Emissions Law:
Lessons Learned So Far and the Countdown to 2024
(Closed to Media)
Please Note: Registration for this event has closed.
Join us for an After-Work Seminar unpacking how New York’s Climate Mobilization Act (CMA) and Local Law 97 have been put into action so far, as well as what questions remain.
Our discussion will include market experts from across the real estate financing ecosystem. We’ll focus on what details of New York’s emissions law are the most challenging for property owners and lenders, what technical details remain to be clarified, and what alternatives to fines and energy retrofits may be available, such as renewable energy credits, carbon trading, appeals, and adjustments.
The panel will also help investors and lenders think about these aspects of New York’s CMA in the national context of similar municipal regulations. We’ll also illustrate how some players are putting their CMA planning into motion, including conducting cost/benefit analysis for energy efficiency retrofits and obtaining financing for these retrofits.
