CREFC’s one-on-one career chats highlight a seasoned professional within
the CRE finance industry. A Young Professional (YP) will serve as the
interviewer/moderator who guides the discussion and asks pertinent questions to
our spotlighted professional.
These talks not only will provide insight into the various roles and sectors of
the CRE finance markets, but also introduce listeners to the different paths
one might take during the course of his or her career. These career chats
are designed to educate and excite YPs and students about the plethora of
options and opportunities available to them in our industry.

Ali Haidar, Senior Manager, Ernst & Young LLP
Ali has 14 years of experience helping executives make decisions and solve complex problems relating to their real estate investment portfolio. While his work is sector agnostic, Ali has been focusing his efforts on the Private Equity, Financial Services, and Public Sector clients.
At EY, Ali works on developing and implementing strategic initiatives for his clients. He also supports executives in making key investment decisions including access to capital market, acquisitions, mergers, divestiture, valuations, corporate real estate, growth strategies, digital transformation and governance models. He has numerous years of underwriting and structuring real estate investment opportunities on behalf of his clients.
Ali has served lending institutions globally and has deep knowledge of structured products including CMBS and CRE CLO. He has underwritten over $70b+ worth of SASB and conduit commercial real estate loans.
Ali is a big believer in the power of the pen and an advocate for continued education. He is a member of the education committee at CREFC. He holds a Master degree in Real Estate Finance from NYU.
