Mr. Brennan is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Guggenheim Partners’ Commercial Real Estate Finance business (GCREF), located in New York City. GCREF is a full service national commercial real estate finance platform and together, with its affiliate, Pillar Financial, LLC (a FNMA DUS, FHLMC Program Plus and FHA/HUD approved lender), offers its clients a broad array of capital solutions. Mr. Brennan is one of the original pioneers of the modern CMBS industry and an original member of the Commercial Mortgage Securitization Association (now CRE Finance Council).
Mr. Brennan joined Guggenheim in May 2010. Previously he was the Global Head of Credit Suisse’s Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group after it was merged with Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ). Under Mr. Brennan’s leadership, Credit Suisse became a dominant global player in the commercial real estate finance industry with top-ranked market share in many categories, pioneering many industry innovations in transaction structures, loan programs, new products and new markets. Mr. Brennan joined Credit Suisse in November 2000 when it was merged with Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (“DLJ”), where he was a Managing Director and Head of the Commercial Mortgage Group. Mr. Brennan joined DLJ from UBS Securities, Inc. where he was responsible for the whole loan trading desk. Previously, he was with L.F. Rothschild where he traded commercial and residential mortgage loans. Mr. Brennan started his career in 1983 with E.F. Hutton where he was an Associate in the Investment Banking Division. Mr. Brennan is a graduate of the University of Vermont and holds an M.B.A. from New York University. He serves on the Board of Directors of the CRE Finance Council and on the President’s Council of the Real Estate Roundtable.
