In Memory of CREFC Member Hugh Hall

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Hugh Hall, an influential and valued member of the CRE industry.

Hugh graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with highest honors, earned an LL.B. from Boston University School of Law, and joined Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft LLP in Manhattan.  Hugh launched his career in investment banking with Credit Suisse First Boston, and was a co-founder of Gramercy Capital Corp.  On the day its stock was listed on the New York Stock Exchange, he rang the opening ball.  Hugh’s entire career involved commercial real estate, most recently as a senior vice president of Keybank Capital Markets.

CREFC members and organizations who wish to make a gift in Hugh’s memory are invited to contribute to a trust to provide additional financial resources for the living, education, and health care expenses of his three teenage children.  Please contact Bob Foley (bob.r.foley@gmail.com) or Chris Linkas (christopherlinkas@gmail.com), co-trustees of the trust, for additional information and to make your gift.  Legal work to form the trust is being performed by CREFC member firm Cadwalader, courtesy of Stu Goldstein and his partners.

Hugh’s children and extended family are grateful for the many expressions of sympathy received.  The family expects to hold an event to celebrate Hugh’s life later in 2021 once larger gatherings can safely occur.  Details will be provided when available.
