Part 1: Overview, Participants, Legal Documents, and Primary Servicer
Wednesday, February 19th at 11am
In this first of three webinars faculty will provide an overview of securitization followed by a description of the transaction process. A breakdown of the transaction timeline from the initial pool formation to the closing of securities and everything in between will be reviewed. Follow the money from the borrower to the investors and review the various CMBS transaction types. Speakers will provide an overview of all the players in the game when it comes to participants in securitization (borrowers, originators, investment banks, etc). They will then take a deep dive into the role of the Primary Servicer and review legal documents such as the Pooling and Servicing Agreement (PSA). At the conclusion of the lecture viewers of this live webinar will be able to ask the faculty questions.
Part 2: Master and Special Servicers, Compensation and Standards
Wednesday, March 4th at 11am
An overview of the Master Servicer will kick off this second of three live webinars. Faculty will discuss the overall role of the Master Servicer (the first line of defense from the credit side and the party that the borrower is likely to interact with the most). Then, the discussion will move into the role of the Special Servicer (who work maximize recovery on a defaulted loan). Servicer compensation will be reviewed for primary, master, and special servicers. Viewers of this live webinar will be able to ask the faculty questions following the end of the presentation.
Part 3: Non-Servicing Parties, Rating CMBS Servicers, Regulations, and Current Issues
Wednesday, March 18th at 11am
This final webinar in the series will discuss non-servicing parties that are part of the transaction (trustee/certificate administrator, operating advisors, asset representation reviewers, and B-Piece buyer). Faculty will review the 5 main criteria that servicers are rated on as well as the process. This webinar series will wrap on a discussion of the current issues in CMBS servicing. Registrants of this live webinar will then have time to ask the speakers questions.
