CREFC GIVES Back

With a history of giving back, CREFC supports professional development for students and emerging talent, advances diversity through targeted scholarship programs, and mobilizes our affinity groups to drive impactful fundraising initiatives. Additionally, CREFC provides financial contributions to organizations aligned with our mission of strengthening the industry and promoting its future success.

Fundraisers & Volunteer Opportunities

California Wildfires Fundraiser
Our thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating wildfires that have ravaged communities across California, home to more than 1,500 CREFC members. These fires, fueled by dry conditions, intense winds, and low humidity, have consumed tens of thousands of acres, destroyed homes, and displaced hundreds of families, including those of CREFC members. To aid in the relief and recovery efforts, CREFC has established fundraiser pages with the American Red Cross and the California Community Foundation. We invite our members to join us in this critical cause by making donations through our dedicated fundraising pages:

  • American Red Cross
  • California Community Foundation – Wildfire Recovery Fund

  • Your donation enables these organizations to provide safe shelter, food, emotional support, and other vital services to those in need.
CREFC will match all member donations. Please consider contributing to the relief efforts and demonstrating the strength and unity of the CREFC community.

The Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) and the Schack Institute of Real Estate at the NYU School of Professional Studies (NYU SPS) partnered together to create the CREFC Center for Real Estate Finance at the Schack Institute. The Center will serve as a hub for industry collaboration on research initiatives, novel programming, and student engagement. The venture is supported by an endowment gift to NYU from CREFC shared at its January 2020 conference. Each year, two incoming graduate students and two senior undergraduate students are designated as CREFC Scholars. For graduate students, the program includes unique opportunities for research and industry engagement, industry mentoring, and a substantial scholarship. Learn more here.
