Kevin Shannon is widely considered to be one of the premier investment sales brokers in the United States. As the Co-Head of U.S. Capital Markets for Newmark, along with Adam Spies, Doug Harmon and Rob Griffin, Kevin leads a team of 31 professionals focused on arranging capital markets transactions on behalf of domestic and offshore investors primarily in the Western United States. Kevin has been involved in over $80 billion of capital markets transactions since 2010 and has extensive experience in both fee simple and structured transactions in the office, industrial, life science, multifamily, land, and retail sectors.
Kevin joined Newmark in 2015 after ten years at CBRE, where he served as Vice Chairman and Managing Director for the West Coast Institutional Investment Group and led the Western United States Office vertical. Prior to CBRE, he served as a Senior Vice President with the Institutional Investment Group at Grubb & Ellis. He began his real estate career at Colliers Seeley, where he rose to Managing Director and established the company’s Investment Division in 1996.
Kevin attended the University of Southern California (USC), with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance and Development and is a frequent guest lecturer. He is a long-standing board member of the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate and a USC House of Victory NIL trustee. Kevin is also the Vice Chair of Urban Land Institute’s IOPC Silver Flight and serves on the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics Policy Advisory Board.
