Josh Zegen is Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Madison Realty Capital, a real estate private credit manager with approximately $23 billion in assets under management. Since co-founding MRC in 2004, he has been responsible for overseeing the origination and structuring of all the firm's investment activities, as well as raising institutional capital and portfolio management. Under his leadership, MRC and its affiliates have closed real estate transactions totaling in excess of $70 billion across debt and equity strategies. He serves on several of the firm's investment committees related to both the debt and equity platforms, providing oversight and strategic direction across MRC's diversified portfolio. Prior to founding Madison Realty Capital, he founded and served as President of Alpine Commercial Capital, a mortgage advisory firm that successfully closed over $500 million in real estate financings. Before forming Alpine, he was an investment banker in Salomon Smith Barney's Financial Sponsors/Private Equity Group, where he focused on leveraged buyouts, equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, and private placement transactions. He began his career at Merrill Lynch in Debt Capital Markets. Josh is a Co-Founder of The New York Private Equity Network (NYPEN). He graduated cum laude from Brandeis University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.
