Geraldine Hayhurst is currently serving as the Chief of Staff to the President of Freddie Mac, David Brickman.
Prior to taking on this role, Geraldine supported the Multifamily Capital Markets and Multifamily Investments and Advisory Groups within the Multifamily Division of Freddie Mac. Geraldine co-managed a group of attorneys on matters relating to the issuance of securities backed by Multifamily loans, e.g., K-deals and SB-deals. Geraldine participated in the creation, marketing and implementation of new risk transfer and private financing initiatives, such as the revolving aggregation facility (KT-deals) and supplemental loan and whole loan investment funds.
Prior to managing the Multifamily Mortgage Securities group, Geraldine managed the Multifamily Real Estate Structured Transactions group. In this role, Geraldine supported Freddie Mac’s revolving credit facility product, structured loan pool purchase transactions (Q-deals) and securitization representations and warranties framework.
Prior to becoming the Managing Associate General Counsel for Multifamily Structured Transactions, Geraldine was an associate general counsel in the Mortgage Securities group for 10 years and participated in the creation of the Multifamily K-deal product.
Before joining Freddie Mac in 2005, Geraldine worked in the Division of Trading and Markets at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and worked in private practice with Shearman & Sterling LLP and Clifford Chance LLP representing lenders and borrowers on secured lending transactions and representing issuers and underwriters on registered and private securities transactions.
Geraldine holds a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Loyola University, Chicago.
