Val Achtemeier is a Vice Chairman in Debt & Structured Finance at CBRE focusing on institutional debt advisory, with strategic expertise in originating, structuring and negotiating large commercial real estate finance transactions and portfolio loans throughout the U.S. Val has an established institutional and high net worth client base that seek her strategic approach to the capital stack for various property types throughout the nation. She is an expert in industrial, data centers, covered land projects and cold storage assets with extensive expertise in NNN leases.
Prior to CBRE, Val was Director of Capital Markets at Majestic Realty Co. which is one of the largest privately owned development firms in the US. She was a long-term member of Majestic’s Board of Directors. Before joining Majestic Realty Co., Val gained institutional and development expertise at the Principal Financial Group with a joint venture development focus as well as loan production and equity placement. Val specializes in Industrial, Air Cargo, Cold Storage, Flex, Data Center and Office Capital Markets with annual personal debt volume of ˜$4-5 Billion/year. Val is one of the top construction loan advisors in the U.S. To date, Val has arranged more than $50 billion of capital for joint venture development and fixed/floating-rate financing transactions ranging from single assets to large portfolios. During her career as a principal, Val focused on development, joint venture formations and construction/perm loan transactions.
