Mr. D’Amico is responsible for the oversight of all special serviced assets handled by TriMont for its clients. Mr. D’Amico’s duties include strategy formulation and approval of Asset Status Reports and Deal Resolution Plans for distressed loans. Mr. D’Amico chairs the firm’s Credit Committee and works with Primary Servicing team leaders to identify watch list assets. Additionally, Mr. D’Amico oversees the firm’s Underwriting Team which is involved in the acquisition of non-performing and sub-performing loans.
Mr. D’Amico joined TriMont Real Estate Advisors, Inc. in June 2012 and has over 30 years experience in real estate and real estate finance. Prior to joining TriMont, Mr. D’Amico practiced law with the firms of Reid and Riege P.C. and Updike, Kelly & Spellacy P.C., both of Hartford, CT, where he specialized in tax, real estate and finance. He has advised developers, financial institutions, high net worth individuals, property owners and tenants. In 2003, he joined ARCap REIT, Inc., one of the country’s premier B piece buyers and special servicers, as its General Counsel, and served as an ex-officio member of the investment and credit committees. When ARCap was acquired by Centerline Capital Group, Inc., he became its Senior Managing Director and General Counsel and regularly advised asset managers on large loan resolutions. Mr. D’Amico has also served as Chief Executive Officer of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) and continues as a member of its Board of Governors and Executive Committee. He is the chair-elect of the Distressed Realty Assets sub-forum of HYDRA and this is his third year as co-chair of the HYDRA Summit.
