The U.S. government’s proposals to reauthorize its role complementing the insurance industry includes legislative language and potential regulations involving many facets of catastrophe insurance. Plans were introduced in 2012 to reauthorize the nation’s Flood Insurance Program. We expect the reauthorization of Terrorism Risk Insurance (TRIA) to commence in 2013. This section describes the Council’s involvement in these government initiatives.
