FAS 166 / FAS 167 

FAS 166/167, which became effective Jan. 1, 2010, involves accounting for securitization transactions and the transfer of financial assets and have the greatest effect on institutions that frequently enter into these types of transactions. FASB has said that the new standards were initiated at the request of investors, the SEC, and The President's Working Group on Financial Markets. FAS 166-167 represent amendments to FAS 140 and (FIN 46R). Below are the items that relate to FAS 166/167, FAS 140 and FIN 46R.
