CMSA to Host Afternoon Event Oct. 28; Focus on Servicing and Overall Market


Commercial Mortgage Securities Association on Wednesday, Oct. 28 will host an afternoon event in downtown New York as the association brings together market participants to discuss an array of commercial real estate views on servicing, REMIC reform and overall capital markets issues. The late-afternoon CMSA program consists of two, one-hour sessions followed by an early-evening reception.

Session One: 3:30 – 4:30 pm
How is Servicing Working: An Examination of Opinions on the CRE Landscape
Panelists will cover REMIC reform from a borrower and investor perspective; specific pooling and servicing agreements parameters; diverging views on loan foreclosure processes and the effect of bankruptcy on the special and master servicers.

Session Two: 4:30 – 5:30 pm

Panelists will provide attendees with a complete update on the government’s TALF and PPIP programs and how each is currently working. Additionally, the panel will focus on life insurance companies, banks and funds and how each may be re-entering the debt markets. Also look for views on current real estate sales activity, public markets, unsecured financing and REITs.
